Presentation of the Mire book 

Presentation of the book „ Mire Conservation and Management in Especially Protected Nature Areas in Latvia” will take place on the International Wetlands Day on February 2, 2009 at 14.00 o’clock at the Ministry of the Environment of Latvia, Rīga, Peldu street 25, in the main hall.

Programme:

• Ilona Mendziņa, Deputy director of the Nature Protection Department from the Ministry of the Environment will say the introductory words
• Vija Buša, Head  of the Division of Protected Areas of Nature Protection Department of the Ministry of the Environment will tell about  the International Wetlands Day
• Māra Pakalne from Latvian Fund for Nature, manager of the Project will introduce with the history of the book development  
• Documentary film "Life in the Mire” produced by Documentary film and Photo Association "ELM MEDIA"

The book was produced in the frame of EC LIFE-Nature Project "Implementation of Mire Habitat Management Plan for Latvia" (2004-2008) that was implemented by Latvian Fund for Nature
