The plans of nature protection are approved On the beginning of this year in the Ministry of Environment the nature management plans of three Natura 2000 sites: the nature reserve "Lielupe floodplains", "Lielie Kangari" and nature park "Vilce" were certificated. The plans of nature protection are approved On January 31, this year with the instruction No. 51 in the Ministry of Environment the management plans of the nature reserve "Lielupe floodplains" and nature park "Vilce" were certificated. The project manager Ms. Ieva Rove has managed the development of both plans in 2006. The particular investigation of specially protected areas was done in these plans as well as the aspects of protection and management. The both management plans can be inspected in the home page of the Nature Protection board where all certificated and valid nature plans can be seen (in Latvian version). The plans can be inspected here too (Latvian): In this year the Latvian Nature Fund will publish the summary of nature management plan within frameworks of project "Restoration of floodplains" which will be addressed to all land owners and managers of Lielupe floodplains. The brochure about the nature reserve "Lielupe floodplains" will be published till the April. The aim of it is to educate the visitors about the natures values and the special place of nature reserve in the urban landscape. The brochure will be in Latvian with summary in English. The preparation of two information stands is in the process (also Latvian and English). The discussion about possible pasturing of wild horses and cows in the Pilssala is in the process now. On February 6, this year with the instruction No. 72 in the Ministry of Environment the protection plans of the nature restricted area "Lielie Kangari" which lies in Ropaži parish Rīga district and Suntaži parish Ogres district were certificated .
