Meeting of the Management Plan Steering Group for Cena Mire Nature Reserve 1. On July 5, 2005 the first meeting of the Management Plan Steering Group for Cena Mire Nature Reserve took place in Babīte Secondary School (22 participants). The management plan expert Inese Silamiķele informed about the progress of the elaboration of the management plan for Cena Mire and mire studies carried in the site. The project hydrologist Aigars Indriksons reported about hydrology of Cena Mire. The project manager of main activities Juris Nusbaums told about the elaboration of technical designs for building of dams, nature trail and a watching tower in Cena Mire. During the discussion part problems were risen that should be solved during the elaboration of the management plan. For example, suggestions for the management of the peat fields should be included in management plan for Cena Mire. It was also decided to inform the local people about the restoration of hydrological regime in Cena Mire and its influence to the surrounding areas of Cena Mire Nature Reserve. After the discussion the Management Plan Steering Group meeting was continued in Cena Mire Nature Reserve to discuss the planned management activities in the field. 2. On September 28, 2005 the second meeting of the Management Plan Steering Group for Cena Mire Nature Reserve took place in Marupe Municipality (13 participants). 3. On November 16, 2006 the third meeting of the management plan of Cena Mire took place in Marupe Municipality. 4. On December 22, 2005 the fourth meeting of the Management Plan Steering Group for Cena Mire Nature Reserve took place in Ministry of Environment (9 participants). The participants signed the protocol that the elaboration of management plan is completed and all the participants have been informed about the process of the elaboration of the management plans. The management plan for Cena Mire is approved by the Regulations of the Minister of Environment of Latvia on March 17, 2006 (Regulation Nr. 112).
