First meeting with stakeholders on LIFE Nature project " Restoration of Floodplains" Prosperous New year to every one! We wish you so much success as high-water during spring flood-time! To make the beginning of year more active, the first stakeholders meeting is planned on 14.01.2005. at Ergeme parish (Valka district). Not only landowners, but also other related organisations as: Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve, Nature Protection board, Valmiera Regional Environment department, Rural Support service, Latvia’s State forests and others will take part at this meeting. First meeting is actual for one site: Seda meadows, but in very near future in all project sites will be organised similar meetings. In Northern Vidzeme laying site was selected for meetings as the first one because of Ergeme municipality own initiative and landowners activity. There will be information and discussions about following questions: *introduction to the project *introduction to the nature values in Seda River meadows *introduction on Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve *introduction to the NATURA 2000 *introduction on EU Structural Funds, possibilities offered by Rural Development Plan and benefits for local communities *presentations by local municipalities on their development plans and expectations from the project; *presentations by local land owners on their wishes and expectations; *practical questions of management and planning future cooperation and setting the timetable for work Andris Klepers, public awareness coordinator Financially project is supported by: |
